It is with much sadness that I pass on the news that Julie Rudge died last Thursday. As some of you knew, Julie had been suffering from cancer for the past few years.
The TRF and other organisations will miss her tremendous knowledge and experience of Definitive Map Review work which she carried out enthusiastically and diligently for many years. Julie was very supportive of the TRF
and was always a very positive person with a wide grasp of rural policy. She was very committed to the preserving ROW for all users
We will miss her.
I dont know any funeral arrangements at the moment but will pass these on if I do hear.
She was a thorn in the side of the PROW dept for many years, and a good friend to the TRF.
I fear that without Julie the Devon Green Lanes Group will not continue which would be a shame as it is always more difficult for the county council to ignore all of the user groups when they speak with one voice.
I got to know Julie through my attendance at the Devon Green Lanes Group when I represented the DTRFG and she was a great supporter of our claims and had a tremendous knowledge of Devon and the intricacies of RoW law and practice.
She was secretary and organiser of the DGLG and. like Pete, I now fear for its future.
