Just bought my lad a 1999 1.2 16v Corsa, 5 door with 63,000 miles with not a bit of rust for £650. Everything works and in good order. I found ebay and gumtree to be crap, but some good stuff on Autotrader and occasionally Adtrader, but any decent goes in hours
Isn't it annoying when you phone about a car & you're told by the seller (Trader) that's it's the nicest he's seen in a long time, it's mint & he'd be very surprised if I could find any faults only to drive 25 miles to find that the exhaust is blowing, every light is dripping inside with condensation with one half full of water, one rear light/indicator is cracked in several places & there's half an inch of water lying in the passenger foot well.
I know it's not a lot of money for a car but I know there are ok ones out there.
Total waste of time, why do people lie when it's bloody obvious that faults will be visible when you get there?
There is a nice purple ford ka for sale in summer lane Exeter. I think its a 54 plate for £850 Ono, looks very clean and tidy. If you would like contact details let me know and when I pass by tomorrow I will get the information for you

For that money the Golf is probably mega miles but You may know different?
She has a KA now which has done the usual KA thing of rusting badly (or really well depending on how you look at it) so won't want another one.
A friend is selling her 04 plate 5 door Rover 25 1.4, 65000 miles in vgc. Not sure, it's a Rover so not 'cool' but are they ok? What about the head gasket problems on Rover engines?
Dad has had a 1.4 MG ZR - 04 from new - no issues.
We have a 1.8 Freelander 05 from new - had gasket done (£200) 2 years ago as a precaution (new type gasket and dowels) and it's been a faithful workhorse for 9 years.
Rover 25's aint got street cred - but are cheap as chips and if looked after are good little cars.
Thanks JT, I'll get a quote for a new hg & see if they'll drop enough to cover it. If it wasn't for the head worry we'd have it now, it's really a very tidy car.
I think those 1.4 rovers had a Honda lump. I had one for a while, cost £75 with 6months tax and test cheapest 6 months motoring i ever had (got £80 when i scrapped it) was a good little car, good on jiuce and a nice drive if you not bothered about the uncool factor of rovers
