From Chard, Saturday 27th

image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgNo snow , no ice and after a days rain conditions were good as we left Chard at 9am. Our first lane 193.002/003 required a stop to move a small fallen tree. All the days other lanes are192s. 031 was next and a cheary wave from the farmer at Thorn Farm is always pleasant. 030 had a large tree down and because of the high hedge banks there was plenty of room to pass underneath it.024 is always fun with the stream flowing down one side of  it carving a metre deep gulley to keep you on your toes. Through Stockland and on to 029, a classic East Devon lane. Up onto Stockland Hill and north along the straight to cross the A303 and down into the Otter valley for013 and 009.Back southwards now for 228,280 and 227.051 and 050 brought us up to the Old Chard Road to take in 049 and 048. Into Honiton now and some refreshments at Smileys Cafe . Suitably refreshed we took in 056 and 047 and the whitey named Wilderness lane before finishing of this group of lanes with 034.Across the 303 again to 064 and 070 with the excellent views westwards from the top.A bit of roadwork brought us to 082 which had been churned up by 4x4(some lanes just are not suitable for wide axled 4x4,what a mess).063 and086 next heading back east towards home with 071,072 and 074 finishing of our mornings ride. Thanks to Rick(XR250) and Dave(CRF230) for their company.I will try and attach some photos of our ride if my computer skills allow.

Jon

The lane with all the water is 013, thats the River Otter in the foreground. My wife and I walk that one quite a lot with the dog, close to the A303 but so peaceful.

Thanks, yes can picture it now smile had my worst ever badger a few hundred yards up the lane from that ford no KTM climbed the hedge and spat me off big style confuse Never worked out quite what happened as its not a difficult lane. I wasn't used to the KTM at the time and I think I caught a large stone, the front came up and as it did I wound (accidently) the throttle back and it took off up the hedge.........lucky I wasn't alone and Doug got me on my feet and back on the bike. Was black from the waist to my left knee for about 2 weeks and could only walk with a stick yawn
