Endurocks @ Escot Park, Ottery - this Sunday 6th Sept.

Endurocks holding their next Enduro practice event this coming Sunday. As per my previous posts I'll again state these events are run really well and they are great fun with no pressure. Ride as much or little as you want at a great venue - optional technical routes included.

Pre-book before 8pm tomorrow (Friday) and only £20, or £25 on the day. Weather forcast looking brill as well.

Yes going with Troy providing we get his bike back on time (with Kev Edwards after he seized his big-end @ Landrake racing in soggy clay!!).

We went Escot with Endurocks a few months back and it rode very well -- I imagine in winter it would be a different story!!!

Kiwi - is Lewis your lad ?? Be good to see ya again.

2 laps and he'd be sober from the sweat!!!!

No rode well last time even in the 20 degree heat so the patchy sun and 16 degree should be perfect....

A good day indeed, I managed to get a good run on the new 2-stroke and am now settled on keeping it
Had a couple minor off's trying to get the bloody fast kiwi - he's mad for it now !
got some bruised ribs and a bruised calf too. Think I need to improve my fitness before I get to wolborough !!

Very pleased with the Endurocks crew & the way they run their days, as you said no pressure just a good days riding

Was good until Troy hurt his leg in that deep rut - then fell of twice more on same lap getting back to van. Medic sorted him well and hospital confirmed nothing broken. In a&e we were sat next to "mob" a DTRF member from Tavistock who split his knee open and is now all stitched back together. I'm sure he'll be investing in some knee pads from now on. Hope things heal well soon mate.

Was a good day and a good track.

Oh and hope Rays ok too - was limping a little.

Afternoon All - yes all stitched up and a bit sore still - I enjoyed the day, was a bit tight and technical for the bigger bikes. But only fell off in that first little dell. Thanks to those that came to my aid Sunday - I didn't think it was that bad till I lifted my jeans. Enjoyed the banter at A & E !

Good set up and enjoyed the track, in spite of a lot of swearing (sorry!). 450 was a bit of a handful in the slippery bits but left happy and very sweaty.

Thanks for setting this one up, was good to get out again.

Some comments about Endurorocks were accidentally added to the Dave Muller thread and have been deleted - sorry guys but this would seem a more appropriate place to report on the event.

It was basically that there seems a lot of injurys from this event and the last one. A friend of a friend is currently looking at legal advise as he was knocked off by a marshal on a quad that was riding the track in the wrong direction and was in the bushes for 20 mins plus until he was helped by a rider. I'm not sure I want to go to these events. I come from Liverpool and the events up there wor events. Never had the probs I've seen on this thread alone. Have Endurorocks been around long?

The event was fine, just a few knocks from dicking about ! most of the time you stay on - but sometimes you don't I suppose

Cant answer your friends personal case - thats for him to deal with (although I have never seen their marshalls heading the wrong way around the track on any of their events). However Endurocks events in my own opinion are run the same as most other practice events -- good well defined courses, medic (which handled Troy well), good food, marshalls, pre-ride brief & sighting-lap -- what more can you ask for. Motorcycling is a dangerous hobby and riding slippery/muddy conditions leads to people having falls. Troys injury was at about 10mph in a deep rut - could have happened anywhere. Mobs injury was due to having no knee armour on. Endurocks have not been around too long down here, by the owner has assisting in running events similar to these for years (with Enduroland).
Anyways - if you choose not to ride with these then thats obviously up to you -- but we (my son and I) will continue to go to these and other similar events as I know many others will.

Looking forward to the Trf day. Hopefully that's a bit safer than the Endurocks ones. And insured as can't afford to hurt myself or be hurt without the cover of insurance.

Personal injury insurance is down to the rider not the TRF or the organisers

But thought the idea was that we use our own insurance?

Falling off happens we all know that it comes with the sport which is why we all ( well most of us) wear full armour... If we didn't expect to fall off we wouldn't

With regard to endurocks I've been to most of there events and never seen anything different to any other event,
marshals are good and always on track for riding advice and ensuring people are riding safely.....

As Mark said I'll be attending more events.....

Ok guys. Just relaying the message from my buddy that's in the middle of a claim. Im not sure I'm a huge fan of claims but if it's not run correctly and the party is making a profit then the question needs to be asked why not. This only stems from the fact I've been to tons of events back up in my native land of Liverpool and not seen so many accounts of accidents maybe it's just the riding skill is different down here. I've got an insurance policy that allows me to ride "Offroad" so surely if I ride the Trf event and I have a problem my insurance is valid and my personal insurance that I pay extra for will cover it and my Ktm 530r if I get run into or over? That's the point of having these events set up where all bikes are legal? Or is it a closed event or is it an open one? really looking forward to it tho. I work in closed labs testing all week so am looking forward to it a bit to much. Nice to meet a few more people to get out Green laning with

The law of averages says that you will some day hurt yourself, it can be a dangerous hobby/sport even when you take all precautions. But in all the events I have been to, I have seen the same degree of organisation by all the parties involved and would not say any of the local organizers or clubs are lacking or negligent. God forbid we turn green laning, fun days, practice events and Enduros into a "where theirs blame theirs a claim" society!!!
