I'm on the committee of Devonport & District MCC and we mainly run trials events in SW Devon. We were discussing whether there would be any interest if we offered a class for trail bikes with easy sections to suit. I think West of England hold something similar in their summer easy series.
Please could I have expressions of interest, opinions, general feedback, etc. Thanks
David

i do think this would be a good idea and you would get enough entries we at holsworthy mc hold a couple of trials with trail/enduro class which is always very popular.
your venues would cater for some good sections as well.
Tyre options for this class is always a point for discussion trials rear and no restrictions on front seams to be the way to go

We don't have any events planned until next year, there should have been one on 10th but we couldn't get the venue
I think just a trials tyre on the rear is the way to go. The sections would be similar to those on an LDT, easy route or a technical lane. Nothing is decided, we're open to discussion....
I think classes differentiated for weight of rider or bike would be a non-starter on the grounds of admin

That's a shame.
I just think if you want to open the sport up to new people it's a good opportunity, that maybe someone can remove a topbox on Saturday and pick up a bronze on Sunday. Some fresh blood instead of just migration.
Yes, very. Did this type event in the Army. The Army was not allowed to have 'races' only training events so we had enduro stages with trials sections in them. Was great fun, there was a Military Machine class, Enduro Machine class, Trail Machine class. Run over a 10km course on average with two special tests throw in as well . If the organisers were feeling mean there could be a timed speed acceleration test and compulsory timed tyre change using the tools you carried (kit check mandatory) at the end of the event.

did moor to sea this year on my wr250, rear trials tyre only, most stages pretty hard but challenging for a novice like me. had great fun though and really enjoyed the slow technical sections up river beds, big rocks, tight turns, hill climbs etc. all thrown in with plenty of lanes and road work to get to stages, would definetly be up for more of these types of days out, you really learn a lot and the better riders are amazing to watch.
