You've been looking at my mate Dave's website! In the first one there's at least 2 world champions to be, and one British champion as well as few lesser mortals, should have been a cracking days racing! Dan

Nice to see that I may have some old Patchquick programmes from when they were held in Rocombe that I'll post if I can find them.
Some real blasts from the past in both riders and bikes but the nearest I come personally to that programme is to the advert for Tor Motor Cycles in Street. I used to go caving on the Mendips and one weekend chose to ride up but just after Exeter the silencer fell off my bike. I limped to Cullompton and called into the bike shop there where the silencer was wired back on, the mechanic ate my sandwiches, drank my beer and charged me far more than I was expecting because he'd "learned so much from climbing trees in the Scouts"! I was understandably less than chuffed when the silencer fell off again while on the M5 yet still within sight of the Cullompton slip road
I pressed on to Priddy making a hell of a racket as I rode through Glastonbury and Wells but stopped at Tor Motor Cycles in Street on the way home where I bought the studs and gaskets I needed and repaired it myself at the roadside - a 'proper' repair that lasted the life of the bike.
And what was the bike? A Lambretta scooter so the least said the better
