For the last 8 years I have run a successful circuit training class at my place of work (Plessey Semi in Plymouth).
When I reached 100 classes I ran a charity challenge session collecting money on behalf of St Lukes Hospice, Plymouth - this was not long after my dad passed away from cancer. We raised £1200
At 250 classes I ran another session collecting money on behalf of the Pancreatic Cancer charity, not long after a retired ex-work colleague passed away due to this (& was the same cancer my dad had). We raised over £1500 for this.
Well on Thurs 4th February 2016 I will hit the "300th Circuit Class" and again want to run a special challenge class, this time collecting money for the worthy "Children With Cancer" charity (http://www.childrenwithcancer.org.uk/). I am again collecting sponsorship and would like to raise the bar for a £1600 target. This charity also has some personal meaning to me, and if you check out the page below you can ready my short blog and its also where you can click on "Donate Now" and make a pledge for this charity event. The challenge for me and my participants will be 50 x Squat Thrusts, 50 x Crunches, 50 x Spotty Dogs, 50 x Squats, 50 x Press Ups and 50 x Star Jumps -- Total = 300 excercises!
Every little helps - so if this is something you feel is worthwhile for some sponsorship then anything you can give would be hugely appreciated. Click on link below for details, blog and to donate.
Well this evening is our big event - not too late to give a donation.
Nearly @ £1000 now and I have almost £400 in off-line sponsorship - so brilliant effort - but lots of room for more!
Coincidentally it is World Cancer Day today (see link below for details) and it's aim is raise cancer awareness and to prove that every single person can make a difference in the fight against cancer.
On-Line donations will remain open for a while after the event for the slow typers
