Had a great time showing the Essex guys from last year around our beautiful countryside again this year. Five guys from Essex came down on Friday and stayed at one of there brothers holiday homes in Tuckenhay so I went to have a beer with them whilst they had their dinner in the Pub that evening so that I could meet two new recruits who hadn't come down last year
We met at 8.45 on both days to set off by 9, we covered 120 miles the first day taking in greats like Simms and Ruggadon, 144 miles door to door for me and 134 miles on Sunday Taking the ferry to Kingswear and visiting Mansands, Stoke Gabriel, Devils steps and basically most of the great lanes in the South Hams, 158 miles door to door for me and ten and a half hours in the saddle for me
A big thank you must go out to Laurie and Geoff for helping on the Saturday and Dave Muller for the Sunday I couldn't have done it without you
Here's a few pics of Saturday then Sunday
The newly trimmed 202-096
Ruggadon
Tally Ho
Sunday morning on the ferry
Mansands
Not sure if you can spot them but somewhere out there are two mad surfers
Saturday was a cracking days riding. Big thanks to Russ for leading and nice to see some friendly faces again and to meet some new riding friends. I'm sure everyone enjoyed themselves.
Two Xtrainers there were Dave. I think both guys really liked them, perfect laning bike by all accounts. For a 2t they didn't sound overly 'raspy', although both bikes were still being run in so the guys weren't hammering them.
Sorry I couldn't join you the conditions looked excellent. You must have a backside like a baboon's after those miles.......
As an aside, how did the guy with the XTrainer get on ?
Two x trainers both with only a few hundred miles on them and both owners rated them highly, the one with the MT43 rear had more success on the slately lanes both sounded very soft, not the normal raspy 2 stroke also good for short riders appparently .
Blimey, you covered some miles! I bet they were glad to get back home for a rest. You can really appreciate the gradient on devils steps in one of the photo's, something not always visible in photos. Also it looks like it was slightly dry?
