Just reading about a chap who is riding one of these around the world. In my head I'm thinking prop stand, servicing, rebuilds etc but no! 32500kms without issues. Naughty me for mis-judging a manufacturer.
I don't know if it's an urban myth but Ewan n Charlie n the long way round and down popularisation of BMW s 1200 GS could have been a KTM success story had the KTM guys not said you boys don't want a heavy 900 adventure KTM you want the 640 KTM adventure for the planned trip. Apparently this did not sit well with Mr Boorman a 620 cc engine being insufficiently macho..... That's what I have heard anyway....
Ps.
Oh aye n Ewan is a Jedi so Charlie gets the blame....

LC4 engine is awesome, with good service intervals. Stand is proper, not like the cheesy exc one!

I had a 2002 620cc LC4 engined 640 Adventure nice bike, too big n heavy for narrow lanes and that big piston banging up n down on a long ride changes a grin to a grimace.
