I recently looked around for a cheaper phone to take out with me on the lanes. First I bought a Doogee X5 from Amazon, but I never used it as it was quite a large phone and I thought I'd break it when I'm out and about. Specs-wise it's pretty good for around £45. I then managed to pick up a new Huawei Y3 from Argos for £30 including a £10 airtime credit with EE (which I used to get in unlocked). This has a smaller screen and is more suitable for me when out on the lanes. Decent spec for the price too. Both these devices - and their equivalents - all have cameras and other stuff you'd associate with a smartphone, but obviously are outclassed by other devices costing upwards of ten times as much. In summary, a lot of the cheaper Chinese phones are pretty good, but read a few reviews first. Hope that helps
I use a Huawei G620s as a sat nav on the bike as I like the 5" screen. As a phone it's ok but noticeably slower and a clumsier keyboard than my Galaxy s5, but then it's about a quarter of the price...
