Dan

I have a "trail tech vapor " digital dash, with HD enclosed case, mounting bracket, speedo wiring and pick up, water temp wiring/sensor

If it's any good to you? It's fitted to my YZ at the minute but just about to remove it.....

It's very similar to my gas gas EC250 2012 model standard speedo

So, this post has appeared at an opportune time. Reason I say this is two fold: Having recently returned from a 3-day trail riding trip around Reading, Surrey and Portsmouth, during our Surrey run - which was led by some guys from the Surrey TRF - we came across one of their members who was awaiting collection (in a van) from a fellow rider, his Gas Gas having broken down on him! One of our group who is a mechanic by trade cast his expert eye over it, the diagnosis being "no compression. I reckon you've got a hole in the piston". There were then the jokes about breaking it for spares rather than fixing it! Since that ride I've asked the question of the Surrey TRF guy, "what happened to the Gas Gas?", as I was curiously interested. Although still to be 100% confirmed I was told that a BIG list of parts was needed so the owner was indeed thinking of breaking it. Although it's some ways away in Surrey I could chase this, or put you in touch with a contact so you could possibly ask what parts are available?

The second-fold part of the story: the mechanic guy in our group said to the owner of the Gas Gas that he had a complete engine and many other spare parts for that bike (although I think it was a re-bored 250 rather then a 300?) If you'd also like, and if he's willing, I could get you in touch with this guy I know so you can see what spares he may have? He's Plymouth based so a little closer!

PM me

Thx

Thanks Jeff, how much you after? would be nice to get it completely together but I'm cautious about throwing money at it because it will end up costing me more than a good one to start with.

Thanks Tim, can you see what they would charge for a carb bowl? When I asked they wanted something like £75.00 and for that I would rather leave the silicon in place. Can they be welded? It's a hole I imagine caused by an unfortunately timed off.

I had some welding done on a carb recently, a broken float hinge post, the chap said it can be risky welding carbs but it came out fine

For kehin parts it's worth trying allens performance

It all depends on what the carb is made from, aluminium alloys are normally no problem, die cast zinc alloy just fall apart when you apply heat
