has anyone on the forum had any experience of both bikes?
really fancy a Beta and like the idea of the lighter Xtrainer but heard mixed reviews on the X Trainers handling suggesting the RR may be the way to go, would be useful to get some feedback from anyone that has either of them or better yet has ridden both!
I've had an XTrainer since April and now covered almost 2k miles. I've only used it for green laning in Devon, Wales and Pyrenees.
Once I had adjusted the suspension to my size, type of riding, etc. I have found it perfectly OK for what I want to do and as good as any other bike I have ridden.
I haven't ridden an RR so can't make a comparison. Ray (bombX3) has one and has ridden both I believe, he may be on here in due course to give his opinion.
I like the XTrainer for it's compact size, especially in the technical stuff, and low down grunt.

Thanks for your input David, I had heard of people replacing the front forks but sounds like there would be enough adjustment in them? I'm between 13 - 14 stone so would need to stiffen it up a bit.
I have found the xtrainer is great for technical challenges and green laning this is what its built for, i have the RR racing best bike i have ever owned, lets you nip along and the suspension takes it and is pretty good in the tight stuff too, a lot of xtrainer owners moan about the forks i think that is because they are trying to ride it like a RR(mx tracks or high speed bumpy stuff)
The xtrainer is a lot cheaper than the RR Racing you dont get some thing for nothing, too totally different bikes
Either one is great for DRTF

in Barcelona at the moment, plan is to get an early start and ride over the Pyrenees through Andora and in to France tomorrow. As we where waiting to get off the ferry on Monday got Chatting to two guys on KTM 690's all kitted up for the rough stuff, they where riding to Portul and then doing 1000 miles of off road trails, camping and everythin! Turns out they both live in Newton Abbott and work at an RNLI station in a little town called Dawlish, it's near the MOT place he said!!!!!!

Small world innit! I've seen a 690 over there, might wonder over for a chat next time I see it Anyway, I shouldn't be on here during working hours, but it's OK as the boss is away. Oh wait....
