Last Easter Gavinski, Tribey and myself did a fly, hire and ride trip to Vietnam. Basically design our own route, organise it all ourselves, be flexible and go J great trip.
Now I am going to do 2 weeks in South Africa from the 1st to 15th April 2017. Got my flight a few days ago flying LHR to Johannesburg for £505. I am starting to put together some idea as to where to go and what to see. The idea is to fly out to Johannesburg, hire small trail bikes and explore. I would prefer, whenever possible, to stay in guest houses or hostels (not cause I am cheap but to have a different experience).
If there is anybody interested in joining me on this trip get in touch. An ideal group would be 3 or 4 riders in total.
Also if you have any contacts or recommendations or thing to see/ride/experience I would be interested to hear them.
A little about myself, for those that do not know me. I am a 55 year teacher so I do not have any flexibility with my dates; I have done several 5 week trips The Stans twice, Mongolia, TAT, Morocco and Vietnam. Relaxed and self-sufficient. I am not an enduro god but a steady trial rider happy to do 8 to 10 hours a day riding.
Yes, that sounds exciting. Might have been interested if I wasn't already away at that time. My mate's brother lives there and has various biking contacts around SA if you'd like me get his details. Toured with him a few years back, and we had various free accommodation.

I visit SA a lot and my Dad lives there, I have just got back and did some riding while I was there. There is a very good FB page that share rates and closures etc, Adventure Riders SA.
I would be more than happy to assist with some route ideas, My Dad, does a lot of 4x4ing (Nissan Patrol) and knows SA very well.

Hi Luke thanks for the offer. Just got back yesterday after a 3000 mile odyssey. I will be going back so it would be good to talk. Cheers Nick
