Selling the husky 310 this year, but can't decide-2 stroke or 4 stroke. Just wondering if anybody has any experience with demo bikes or experience days with KTM etc
Spoke to several dealers about demo days and they said that will probably not happen again for any brand due to large cost of events. But if anyone hears of one please let me know. beta, husky, ktm.
Go to a TRF event and there will be many different types of machine.
I enjoyed riding eleven different bikes around Whiteway Barton moto-x track thanks to the generosity of fellow TRF members at one event. Nothing quite like trying the same track on differing machinery to get a realistic comparison. Oddly I was more than happy to get back on my own bike as nothing else felt quite 'right'.

Likely because you're so use to your own bike. I know I'd need more than 1 lap of a track to get use to (and assess) a bike as a possible replacement.
A whole day riding lanes might be a better test but even then...
I'm happy to jump on any road bike to get the 'feel' of it but I tend not to swap bikes on the lanes as I enjoy it more on my own bike as I'm so use to it and it's set-up just right for me.
I honestly think that when it comes to a new bike it's a leap of faith. Give it a few months to a year and sell if not happy.
Thanks for the quick replies! I'm stuck between a yam wr 250f, ktm 350 exc-f and a 250 exc. Beta and sherco make decent bikes as well. I know lots of it comes down to personal preference. Ady Smith KTM looks like a decent option!

so very true.
if you fiddle with the setup of your bike its very hard for a stock bike to feel right after years of tinkering, harder still if its tinkered for someone else
