I'm keen to do the North Cape run (ride) to the top of Norway, about 4k miles. In june next year (2019). Doing the ride in 2.5 weeks,so lots of riding.
If anyone is interested, just P.M me !
As usual, my situation has changed, so the trip has been put back a year.......sods law eh !

It is Dan, but take some food, shop at supper markets and it's possible to eat cheapish ! I've toured the south by car and it is stunning. Allways fancied taking a bike. The roads are spot on for bikes. Fuel cost is about the same as here.
Totally agree, I went to Boda and the lofoten Islands fishing in the artic circle (take a telescopic/travel rod if you like fishing!) and the roads were spectacular

I did the Cape-to-Cape challenge (Nordkapp to Cape Tarifa, the most Northerly to most Southerly points in Europe) at that time of year a few years ago.
We arrived at Nordkapp, after the drive up through Norway, with a crusted layer of insects on the car approx half an inch thick - no exaggeration; the paint colour could not be seen on any of the forward facing surfaces.
We had to stop for fuel at one point and were bitten all over, even through our shirts. The car was full of the little b'stards for several miles afterwards until the bug spray killed them off. Stopping to clear the windscreen (the wipers/washers could only handle it for so long without extra scraping) had a similar result.
I know that the insect problem varies markedly according to weather and exact location, but it is definitely something to think about, especially as you are talking about camping.
