can anyone recommend a replacement speedo for my TTR. The original drive is buggered and I don't have the proper dial etc. I know there was a thread a while ago but can't find it.
If you're buying a wired push bike speedo, make sure the wire is long enough to go between magnet pick-up location and mounting site on the bars, or you'll have to extend it, and running it through some tube will offer some protection from the brambles.
I have fitted and been happy with a trail tech vapour speedo, can be hooked up to bike power or run on battery, and has a rev counter and temp guage. You can also get a clip on cover that holds lights for the indicator and idiot lights and gives a nice tidy finish

Is it possible to use mountain bike speedos.
cheers Trevor
Hi Trevor
Maybe the thread was on the TTR250 form? Try http://ttr250.activeboard.com/t58825906/speedo-drive-rebuild-blue-ttrs-only/

What exactly is the problem with your drive?
Brian
The drives chewed up and I don't have the correct speedo clock for the other end Brian.
If you have the mounting binnacle than you could probably get a bit for it that would go some way toward buying an electronic speedo - see http://ttr250.activeboard.com/t64265098/wanted-blue-speedo-mount-speedo-and-warning-lights/
I have used both Acewell and Vapour units and they worked fine.
The GPS suggestion is a good one. The Road Angels are cheap and easy to come by and give a good mph or kph display. No need for wheel sensors etc. Just a power lead
