I used to go out on my TTR quite a lot and started green laning in Devon on my Tiger Cub - but quickly changed.
Over a year ago I sadly had to give up motorbikes.
I sold my Suzuki 1200 after I sold my Cub and eventually I had to give up my TTR - a big wrench because I felt I'd lost my freedom.
I was laid low because I now suffer from Multiple Sclerosis. I can't walk any more, further than 5 yards and I stop dead. I get around using a Zimmer frame, walking sticks and ingenuity.
I had to sell my car and my missus went out and bought me a mobility scooter to get around on.
In just over two years of use I have managed nearly 1,500 miles on it.
Last week we were walking our dog, Jedi, on the local roads and we were passing the end of lane 192-185.
I said to Liz that it was a direct link to East Budleigh that I used to use frequently - let's go and see if .......
Jedi and Liz stepped out and I gingerly followed, quite easy at first.
The sun wad warm, the sky was blue and the prospect of refreshment at Sir Walter tempted me forwards.
The nettles, however, were seeming to get closer and the ruts each side of the track got deeper and narrowed the central walkway to two crests.
Inevitably the scooter fell into the right hand track and I got nettled. I had to clamber off the scooter to push it back onto the middle path because the wheels were just spinning.
Liz and Jedi were not to be seen so I had to struggle on as best I could. Eventually I managed to stutter my way to the cross lane junction and turned right towards the farm and civilization.
At last I eventually arrived at East Budleigh and arrived at the Sir Walter in a slighly sweaty, dishevelled state but eager to quaff the refreshing pint and relax.
It was a very good experience for me and certainly made the adrenalin rush.
I was well pleased with my reckless endeavour but Liz said that I was still stupid.

Good for you Martyn. I think you deserved that pint and expect it tasted all the better for having earned it. I have had plenty of 'adventures' my friends would call reckless which I look back on with satisfaction. Best run report I have read for a while.
Mr Cubber - an inspiration!!!
I will never moan again about aches and pains - well I will try to.
As above, all my best adventures and memories were spur of the moment, nothing planned - ask Mr TTR ;)
Keep it up.
Well done You...
Don't let a slight mishap put you off, just goes to show though
No matter what you feel or do,there is an up side to everything..
But next time, make sure the wife stays with you,as an off could more serious...
Mike..
Good one Martin, sorry to hear about your problems, but good to see there is still adventure in the old dog. Keep it up and remember when you need welding or modifications made to take on more scenic routes, I am still in Beer. All the best Tim

Riding with enthusiasm upon the ragged precipice of disaster
Spurred on by that successful foray I ventured forth again today.
192-246 is my closest lane and usually very overgrown. I used it a lot for getting to 192-186 and 192-189 and further.
Mrs Cubber even takes our dog Jedi there for his walks on various occasions.
Today I decided to give it a go by going DOWN this lane called UP MEAD.
It is accessed by passing a cul-de-sac and turning right into the dark vegetation...
Surprisingly it was quite easy, not as narrow and overhung as I used to know it ......
It did get tighter for me, but I couldn't see any nettles or badgers this time - just the odd bramble and branch ....
This time I had some cutters with me and I made short work of clearing a way and continued ....
All in all it was easy today, but I didn't get a pint at the end of the adventure this time.
This is the way out to home and coffee......
The Kymco Maxer I have managed quite well and is equipped with eight inch by 3 inch tyres and suspension that manages slight unevenness - not kerbs though!
