Famous hills!


This is an old postcard showing what Beggars Roost, Lynton Hill, Countisbury Hill, Dean Steep and Porlock Hill looked like back in the day - perhaps between the wars?

They look so different to today that I almost wonder if they are correctly named hmm

I think the one shown a Dean Steep is in fact 202-063 which we know as Suicide alley because the topography does not fit 202-076 but it does look like the nearby 063

The one shown as Beggars Roost looks correct
Don't know the others well enough to comment.

The makers of this postcard really missed a trick, that centre one should of been the most famous hill of all?
