Lunch options and tough-lanes around Stokeinteignhead/Kingkerswell?

I'm planning out a second day's route for the Oxford TRF lot that are coming down this weekend and as I don't know the area that well, I am looking for recommendations for a place to stop for Lunch somewhere in the vicinity of Stokeinteignhead > Kingkerswell.

Also with time being short and me not having had the chance to dry-run the route, are there any particularly tough lanes in the Shaldon/Maidencombe/Kingkerswell/Newton Abbot region that I would best avoid for an intermediate level group.

Thanks all!

Romany Jones cafe on old Kingskerswell road.  The clipper in Shaldon, nice on a sunny day, The cafe in the Train station Teignmouth is cheep and you can park right next to it. Nik Nak Noodles at the side of the point car park Teignmouth. Teignmouth for petrol as well.

cheers Trev

I wouldn't go up or down 202 052 its a tough one. The rest are ok though.

I agree with Trev, for an intermediate group, leave out 202-052 in either direction.

202-404 ride East to West, there is a step half way which is a challenge going up (eastwards)

202-014 the steps at the northen end are tricky, so ridden South to North only.

202-036 is a chore to ride down (west to east) even worse the other way.

202-054 is overgrown and blocked, so miss it out.

I also like the Clipper at Shaldon, a nice view over the river, they don't mind dirty boots, and have ice creams too.

Thanks guys, just a couple of detours to exclude some of the tougher lanes, but all good now thanks - Romany Jones is just off route, so perfect, just need to get there before it closes!!

Should have a good 2 days for the guys - 100 miles and about 80 lanes all around East Devon on Saturday, then about the same distance with a bit more roadwork and around 60 lanes on the other side of the Exe and the Teign for the Sunday.
