Is there an Adblue pump near Exeter please?

The "Find Adblue" app says no but apparently it's not very accurate!

You buy it by the gallon, Partservice etc 01392235635.
I have a few of the empty containers.
Expensive.

I had to Google 'Adblue' and read: "Adblue is a fluid made up of a mix of urea and deionized water:

Would it be easier and cheaper just to p!ss in the fuel tank? smile

Cheers,

John

Ah - just read the following on the Citroen page so am forgetting the pump idea!!!

"Attention, the high flow pumps, adapted exclusively to the tanks of trucks and coaches that equip some service stations, are not suitable for private vehicles or light commercial vehicles.

Never use these pumps."

And that's not Lucozade in those bottles next to the motor way so there's plenty out there on tap for your journey although I suspect VW has a get out clause but then they do lie biggrin

Umm - 'cos it whacks it in too quickly for the little tank to cope with. Same reason you wouldn't use a high flow HGV diesel pump.

For a few years yet it seems

According to Environment Secretary Michael Gove there will be a 10-year phasing out period after 2040 to remove all internal combustion engine cars from the road network.

At the age of 88 I wonder how often I will be riding the CRM when that happens

Never had a problem filling up my van from that type of pump

With all the bad press diesels have been getting lately I thought I'd do the responsible thing and replace my old diesel car with a more modern petrol one. True it is a 3.5lt V6 returning 14mpg but the emissions are better so that all right then smile

Cheers,

John

OK - so I ended up buying two 10 litre cans from Halfords complete with filler nozzles for £18.75 as they have a buy one get one at half price deal on.

Interesting ride home on the bike with the tow cans in the top box!

If that is the case Steve, then were you using a pump 'adapted exclusively to the tanks of trucks and coaches'?. There are both available at many Services. Were you refuelling your van in the HGV area?

 2040 - 88 = 1952

apparently those born in 1952 are, eerrr,   mostly retired ..........

gotta love diesel burners (-:

Those new VW diesel engines are so much cleaner burn than their petrol cousins

That may be so but the particulate residue is still causing more respiratory health problems in cities than the petrol gaseous ones.  You can make the particles smaller but you can't eliminate them.  I'm still a petrol head.

Not ever having owned a new vehicle I just googled adblue.

What with the DPF problems it seems like another reason not to buy a (new) diesel.
