This is an interesting app that runs on your PC or mobile.
There are 4 family members (now that I have been added!) on our app's group.
As long as the app is on your mobile (and you have allowed it to access your location data), and your phone is on, then your location will be shown to everyone in the group on a map.
So, for instance, today I can see that Trish is in Exmouth, another family member in Weymouth, another in Sowton and me at home in Exton.
It's only a bit of fun but the others were able to track where we were on our moho holidays in France and Scotland.
However, I can see that there are serious uses of the app, particularly for trail riders. If you needed help when out on the trail then your location is easily identified. If you suffered an accident that rendered you incapable, God forbid, you could be found. If you ride regularly with pals then, if you got separated, it would be easy to regather.
Doesn't cost anything for the basic app and I can't see any issues other than perhaps it can seem a bit like you are stalking each other
This feature is included within the iphone software (once you've set up some family/sharing thing) but relies on the person wanting to be stalked / followed.
Needs a youngster to set up, don't ask me I have no clue. Needless to say my 2 lads weren't going to be stalked on anyways...
It was useful yesterday when Trish said she was going out for five minutes and I needed a second pair of hands for a job. After waiting a while, I checked the app and saw that she had parked up at Dunelm so I knew then she would be gone a while so got on with something else
