Thats more like it.
A bike you can pick up, weight in the right place, suitable bike, loaded correctly.
Bumped into 6 "Adventure" bikes on the weekend, you needed a group of 6 (No covid jokes) to pick up each bike!!
And they had NO luggage.
310 miles in 2 days , about 100 miles to a full tank fully loaded, cruise at 55mph easy and with the mods done to the bike plenty of enough grunt when needed , and easy to pick up , dont ask how I know that
A write up with a few pictures would be of interest to the rest of us if you have time.
five of us left Dorchester at at 8.45 on a variety of bikes , crf 250L, ktm250 exc, yamaha xt500, bmw gs 650, peggi 650. Following the GWT . Our aim was to get down to Totnes in one day and then cutting across the moor to camp at the plume of feathers, which we did manage after approx 9 hrs and 165 ish miles later , tents set up and a table pre booked for 8.00 we had a lovely meal and a couple of well earned pints of cider, woke up reasonably early Sunday a couple of coffees and hot dog and onions breakfast we struck camp and headed off to pick up the trail again at mortonhampstead, approximately another 145miles to home , an absolutely brilliant weekends adventure with even better company , no real dramas except from 1 puncture with only a strong fence to tie the bike to for the repair , in true TRF fashion, and some lost cartons of porridge on one off the lanes Loved it and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has not already had a go , cream crackered though today
