Honiton golf course

Out for a ride on Sunday and the lane  from Honition  golf course to donkey sanctuary we got stopped by a lady who said this is a private lane which belongs to the donkey sanctuary and the security gate should be shut, but it was open. She said the bikes go down the lane too fast, we werent as her dog was loose in the lane, and she was then able to stop us to talk to. Is this still a legal lane to ride? Cheers

The question has been asked before, and a search could have revealed the answer to your question, but to save time;

read this,

and this,

then tell me what you think.....

Its still listed as a ROW on ordnance, not much help though, if the lady in question thinks otherwise maybe we should ask the donkey sanctuary for a copy of the title plan !!

The root of the problem, do you need an enduro bike to trail ride, really?

If this is you please choose another hobby.

Your probably talking to 75% of the trail riders out there, yes I ride a KTM, its in my hands, so its down to individuals how they ride and respect others!

Mountain bikes travelling far too fast on Bridleways are annoying many too, not forgetting EMTB's with the extra power available.

Talking to a local Mountain biker last weekend whilst out surveying FP's in my local parish, nice chap in his late twenties, having fun, didn't know the status of where he was riding nor did he know what RoW he could ride, but trials bikes, enduro bikes, mountain bikes all travelling down besides steps and over steps on a Footpath, knocking out treads, posts supporting the treads etc..

Hey Ho! ITS A DOG EAT DOG WORLD!

There's enough space for everyone, but there are the few who spoil for the majority

The enduro bike doesnt go too fast, the bloke holding the throttle does.

If this is you dictating what model of bike should be allowed on the lanes, please choose another hobby?

I personally think The choice of bike is not the problem , the bike what ever make it is only goes as fast as the person riding it

I was sitting down, having a chill on one of my most favourite lanes. Not mentioning where but the end is 200m from a full breakfast.
Quality moment, taking in the ambience.
When suddenly a heap of mountain bikers passed me at truly scary speed.
Thought to myself, that would be an impressive pile up if a horse or rambler happened to be going in the opposite direction.
It's not like they have any brakes worth speaking of.
Amused me, kept me giggling whilst I devoured my full English.

I removed one tree several years ago (8 years maybe) with the same problem so I'm guessing this must be another tree that has fallen winkno
