David Knight MBE is doing the Dakar then! 
sponsors dropped out at the last minute but a go fund me page will hopefully fund the 85k needed 

half way there with the funds, would be interesting to see how he rides the desert

Given Mr Knight MBE is a thrice World Enduro Champion and won AMA Enduro Cross, Erzberg and last Man Standing before he was thirty with the right backing and a fair wind I reckon this 42 year oldster could be a contender .... smilebiggrin

Anyone know if Ed March is going for this or other adventures with his C90?

I was a bit disappointed to have only heard his name mentioned twice on the Eurosport coverage, until the daily highlights of Stage 7,

where they aired a short feature on him. I suppose he's a new boy with a proven rally history.

I see today, Stage 9, he's lying 17th in class.  That is really good going. Hopefully he'll earn more TV coverage now.

 

And for anyone who watches the TV show Bike World, it was good to see Neil Hawker going well in the assistance-free class.

That Dakar in Saudi Arabia would be better if so many sales people had not had to prove their worth by selling sand to the Arabs. They have too much already! It seems a somewhat monotonous procession .... leading the way-costs time...doesn't feel like the right spirit?
