Had a trundle along the disputed part of three tree lane today and met an elderly lady half way along. I stopped for a chat, as she asked me how I had got into the woods.
I explained that we had reopened the lane several times and that it was a legal right of way.
She was unaware of its road status but as an ex horse rider she was 'bloody cross' that the land owner had seen fit to block it.
She said she knew lots of people who still rode and would be interested in fighting for a right of way, and would speak to them.
I suppose the moral of the story is that it is always worth trying to educate the folks you meet out in the lanes.
