Small tree down - Back Lane, Yettington - Devon ref 192-153. GRM 5294

Small tree down today on Back Lane - Yettington to Colaton Raleigh. We have worked it down the bank a bit but didn't have a saw with us to do the job properly. Rideable, especially if someone stands on one end to bend it down a bit. I hope to pop back with a hand saw in a couple of days to cut the remaining roots and shift it.

Thats the spirit 10 out of 10 for enthusiasm and reporting the problem

No one wants to stop to do anything these days - just ride on by & let someone else deal with it but this statement is a breath of fresh air - Thanks from me Sir - respect!

Is the Oak tree limbs still across the lane on 5314? here Thanks

Keep up the bloody good work smile

Back Lane 5294 is all clear now. I have been down with the hand saw and cut about 3 feet off the end of the stump. To be fair, someone else had broken the limb off its roots, so it was down on the floor. All I did was to cut the trunk off at the path edge and put it down the bank.
While I was out in the area, I had a look at the Oak just west of East Budleigh on 5314. It has been tidied but the large oak limbs are still across the lane. Far to big and heavy for one person to deal with. Access for walkers, trail bikes and MTBs is OK. Horse riders would need to dismount.

This helps immensely Mark, thank you so much mate..

Thanks for the update on the tree, I'll bang off another email to PRoW for a definitive answer to my offer of clearing the tree limbs instead of being passed side ways hmm

Trail riders!!! take note... solutions are there just be like helpful... stop ya bike and get out your weapon to sort the problem...wink

If ya weapon ain't big enough call out Wacky and his big chopper biggrinbiggrin
