202-036 multiple trees down

As not everyone can get on lane clearing.

202-036 GRM 5552 Rocombe/Gabwell area

Multiple trees down.

Met 2 riders at the top, they cleared what they could to get up it.

So we rode down it, that was very difficult!

No idea how they got up it.

It is a lot to shift, we cut some more up, but still a lot left on the other side of those branches.

Wouldn't know mate, its bloody hard to get the trail riders out there to volunteer, killing their own hobby hmm

What would it take 3 or 4 volunteers a couple of hours....how about the DTRF paying a contractor to clear it????

Spent four hours clearing trees for the moaning ramblers on Saturday FP64 bleh

Good luck Neil

Happy to help Mate, its nearly two months now since the first post confuse

I'm driving past today, so I'll see how it is, to save a wasted trip.

I'm working tomorrow or I would have joined you Neil.

Neil, I think it's pretty much as you remember it, although there are signs someone has cut back some branches (pic 1)to make it more pedestrian friendly. There's still a couple of limbos mind.

202-036 middle tree .jpg

still alive tree towards the lower end, ivy covered, about 12 inch trunk

202-036 bottom tree.jpg

tree nearest the top, 14-16 inches, would be too much for my folding saw

202-036 top tree.jpg

what is the go-to folding saw? or do I wait for the Middle at Lidl again?

That's the down side, blades are expensive so got to get the most out of them somehow.

Having walked it yesterday, I can definitely say that looks so much better. Well done Neil, a fair bit of work done there.

Is that last picture a 'before' or 'after' pic?

Picture at bottom is before, I didn't bother with before pics as U done some anyway.

Trees were about 6 inches with some 2inch ivy branches around it.

Also put rocks in the hole at the top to climb out.

I have cleared it enough to be able to ride it standing on the pegs hopefully.
