Most of the run submissions I now receive are tracklogs which makes processing much quicker and easier as we have some excellent home-grown software that takes a gpx file (although it reads any format) and produces a run sheet which is then added to the archive.
This software references a database of lanes built up over the years and includes all the unsurfaced byways and UCRs in Devon but we've recently become aware that there are lanes of which we miss. These being the OS 'yellow' roads that DCC has abandoned and are rapidly becoming of interest to us.
Therefore, can I ask that in addition to a track log that you also note the coordinates of (or other means of placing them) any broken or abandoned ('Road Closed' or 'Unsuitable for Motors' signs are good indicators) roads that are not on the overlays or GRM. Accompanying comments on condition, conflict or obstruction, etc. also appreciated.
We have riders who regularly submit track logs, run sheets or even simple e-mail lists of lanes and my thanks go out to them but these are still in the minority so please, if on a run, don't forget to send the essential usage evidence to me on johnleah@blueyonder.co.uk.
From Bennah lane ( the controversial corner cut at the bottom ) , just south of Christow, heading south west up towards the reservoirs. Really broken up and unsuitable signs at both ends.
Due to many old abandoned computers, my only working overlay is probably 10years out of date and it may be that you already have this one ?

One I rode recently, is the road from Mardon Down to Clifford Bridge. Its coming along nicely.
I think John has already added this one as 191-144, it'll be on your new overlays!
Last time I drove my car down there I swore it would be the last time as it was rather uncomfortable and I had to slow down several times to avoid damaging the car
