Met up with Chris the farmer today, nice bloke still very much alive and kicking, plenty of discussions in both directions. The green road know as 'Blind lane' is working extremely well...a few issues.....
Flood water has eroded a little channel on his entrances to field gate ways, this needs rectifying please, Chris has tried inserting some of the larger rocks enabling the gully to fill in naturally but some trail riders are removing said rocks thus making the problem worse by the gully getting deeper.
Naturally the material washed down over to the lower end of the lane & out onto the tarmac road at the bottom end (Eastern end) nowt we can do but its happened. We don't think John has got a digger anymore but he might be planning on requiring one in the future. Material can be shifted from the lower section of the lane and restored into or behind the water bars or make new ones with Bulky Bags or rocks..
Please stop the high revving and spinning out loose material at the top end causing a deeper gully - Jack D rode a perfect (almost) journey through blind lane without all the high revving, wheel spinning this only applies to one or two riders hell bent on doing this, seen the donuts on the grass at the top
We should be really pleased with all past volunteer works to get this lane operational again, it works really well, well done to ALL past volunteers, little works to begin in the summer to help rectify the issues.
Amazing the condition of the lane, thanks Wacky a few photos from today
