We can all benefit from first aid refreshers and up to date information. If there is ever any incidents in a lane, having some prior first aid training will help you manage the situation and ensure any injuries get prompt and appropriate attention (something I have come to realise on a personal basis recently).
Devon Fire Service run Biker Down sessions on a monthly basis. I have contacted them and they have sessions on the 9th May and 13th June at their headquarters conveniently located at:
The Knowle, Clyst St George, Exeter, EX3 0NW.
Folk have to sign up individually, I tried to organise a 'block booking' but they do not seem to do that.
They are contactable via their email: bikerdown@dsfire.gov.uk or via facebook on https://www.facebook.com/bikerdowndevonandsomerset/
It is a free course and runs for about half a day. A group of Devon TRF did the course a few years ago and we found it a great help and a lot to think about if you are out and about in the lanes, particularly if you are leading a group.
I would recommend it to anyone, so if interested please contact them and sign up via email or Facebook.
