Yeah man.

The Honda was a great bike (the sale finishing at 9.20 on ebay tonight) I have done a lot of laneing on it and kept up with the KTM boys no problem. But with my back problem, I could not ride on the road for more than 30 mins. without problems.

So my long distance ambitions are shot. Hence the return to the laneing god, that is the KTM.biggrin

For KTM owners;

all my friends need .. to carry spanners on their steads ...
and the cost of maintenance makes their hearts bleed ....

Did I just say that?? Ooopps!! wink

Nice, so when can I buy it off you biggrinwink

Spent 4hrs sprucing the van as soon as I got it home. She's gleamin' now smile
Insured it today, bit of a sting in the tail in that there seem to be few insurers that'll allow you to use you car NCB on a commercial vehicle. The big insurers do (Aviva etc...) but you obviously pay more with them. It got upped by nearly £100 as a result! cry Oh well, cest la vie, I'm happy aside from that. Thx

Yeah, I only found out about the difficulty transferring NCB when I sold the van to you.no

You can have the bike in 6 months (only joking)biggrin

AND SLICK, YOU CAN SHUT IT (in a nice way, you understand)biggrin

I lied, only ridden the the lanes on,  KTM400/450, XR400/600/650, Kwaka 250 4t. So what do I know ! smilebiggrinnobiggrin

The back problem stems from almost snapping myself in half in a RTA 17 years ago (dam those Kawasaki ZXR750R's and an indestructible attitude)

Your ZXR750R was a class bike Mr Longman smile.gif

I had the H2 - the one with the hoover pipes going into the tank. Loved it, nearly ended in tears on several trips out with the indestructable attitude smile.gif

Mine was the H2, cracking bike but I snapped it in half on a larda car. Years and years of ridding bikes and that was the only time I got it wrong nosmile

Hell pearcy man, you can get into trouble on a plastic bin - the potential for disaster on one of them is incomprehencible (how do you spell that confuse)

lambrettas are real fun on UCRs

particularly for the less lankey legged

best fitted with knobblies

only downside is they are 2 stroke

2 strokes are lighter, more powerful per cc, and less complicated than their peers.

Bit like me - or so the missus saidno

Well I think it looks bloody lovely Rob. Shame you can't road ride anymore but I do know what you're on about. I liked your big red device would have been nice if you could have kept them both.......

Still not as nice as a Husky though......

Isn't a Wankel a no stroke?  Missing the point entirely.  (In the way our teutonic bretheren seem most ably equipped )wink KTM built by austrians!

Wankel..... invented by an Austrian

is it a 2 or 4 stroke?
So famous in engine design that any motor vehicle produced in Austria should be called a Wankell

Like not all vaccume cleaners are Hoovers etc etc

like the word for motorcycle in Swahilli is "honda"...................

Wankel  - must be a three stroke if it's anything but I'm sticking with a no stroke myself cos it's a rotary and my specs are no longer powerful enuff.ashamed

Although to be correct, all motorcycles holding such engines should be called Norton's smile.gif

Yeh, but Norton overcame all the problems of trying to make a small rotary powerful & reliable.
They were better than the 4T's but couldn't stack up against the 2T's if I remember rightly.
Still, I'd like to see a rotary lane riding tool...
