Looking at getting back into laning - Bike recommendations please! :)

Mornin all! After a little bit of time off Im looking at getting back into a spot of laning. Im considering a Honda CRF300L, with its decent enough road manners and easy maintenance. Budget is around £5000. Any other alternatives or advice gratefully accepted. Thanks for your time, Mark
